homespun quilt e-news

Hello all,

It’s been a busy month here at the shop. Thor is busy with sewing machine repair and maintenance. I have several commissioned pieces I’m working on, plus shop samples. Hannah and Belen are enjoying staying up late and getting up late too. Ahh, carefree youth.

I think we need a contest to see who has the most ufo’s (or as one customer told me “pigs” projects in grocery bags).

The spring sailboat race series is over. We took second place! Our crew is very happy. Last week though, I hit the windward mark (a floating rubber buoy.) So, we had to do penalty turns and came in last. Such is the life of a sailor. On the other hand (?) we’re watching the America’s Cup racing in Spain and saw some of the worst luck ever. New Zealand’s spinnaker shredded, then the second one didn’t go up right and they ended up cutting it loose, after putting up their third spinnaker.

We took a family vacation this year to Death Valley. (more on that later!)

Here's a Happy Halloween / Fall Group
This large panel and group has a companion book, Ghosts in the Pumpkin Patch by Sharon Reynolds. Good ideas for quilt tops. The group includes spider webs, spiders, leaves, stars and moons plus funky pumpkin ‘people’ and leaves.

Fall is coming.
This group has an interesting “Indian Corn”. Includes leaves and spiders too. The panel is a great pumpkin duo surrounded by signs o fall.
